AP to enhance ex-gratia to farmers

The Andhra Pradesh Government headed by Nara Chandrababu Naidu has enhanced the ex-gratia to farmers to relieve the misery and debt of the family members of farmers who have committed suicide. The Government has increased the ex-gratia from the present Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh for the family of deceased farmer towards their rehabilitation. The crop loan waiver limit has also been enhanced from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.50 lakh to debtors as one time settlement to wipe off all liabilities on families of the deceased farmers.

Apart from the above, the Government also decided to extend other benefits to them, which incorporate affirmation of kids in social welfare schools and hostels, allotment of houses under IAY Scheme and financial backing under Government schemes and pensions.

Requests to this impact have been issued on Thursday by J.C.Sharma, the Principal Secretary of Revenue Department.

Kejriwal to take oath as Delhi CM on Feb 14

AAP party leader Arvind Kejriwal would take Oath as Chief Minister of Delhi on February 14 at Ramlila Maidan exactly a year after he had resigned as Delhi CM on the Lokpal issue.

In a landslide victory, AAP secured 67 of the 70 seats of Delhi Assembly in the counting of votes held yesterday. BJP had succumbed to 3 seats. Arvind Kejriwal defeated BJP's Nupur Sharma in the prominent New Delhi constituency by a huge margin of 31,583 votes.

Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday said it will invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Arvind Kejriwal’s swearing-in ceremony as Delhi chief minister on February 14 at the Ramlila Grounds.

Zimbabwe president fell down in public

The president of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe who will turn 91 later this month, made the headlines recently after he misinterpreted his steps at the Harare airport and took a tumble while getting down from a platform after addressing his supporters.

Mugabe was coming back from Ethiopia where he had been chosen the chairman of the African Nation. His aides quickly hurried to his rescue and he was whisked away in his waiting limousine.

Mugabe has been serving as the president of Zimbabwe since 1987 and the nation in southern Africa has seen serious economic hardships under his rule. He was the prime minister of the country for seven years before that.

Confident of BJP win in Delhi: Rajnath Singh

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday expressed confidence that the BJP will emerge victorious in the Delhi assembly elections. Speaking to media in his parliamentary constituency on the day polling was being held in the union capital, Rajnath Singh said the party was certain of its victory at the hustings to give the national capital stability and  development.

He earlier flagged off another train - Lucknow-Kathgodam Express - from here. Asked to comment on the law and order situation in the state, Rajnath Singh said the circumstances was dreary and special attention was required. Rajnath singh also thanked the Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha for the new train. Happy at the manner in which the occasion was composed, Sinha declared a money prize of Rs.1.5 lakh for the officials and employees involved.

"There are many many things lined up but I will not reveal it now," Rajnath Singh said.

Stage set for polling in Delhi elections

The stage is situated for a fight royale in Delhi where polling will be held on Saturday, Feb 7 for 70 seats in the Assembly decisions billed as a referendum on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a view rejected by the BJP authority.

The fight to win control over the national capital saw a resurgent Aam Aadmi Party giving an intense battle to the BJP which has staked its all on Modi's picture.

BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha praises rival Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is getting support from surprising corners.

Moments after West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee urged the people of Delhi to vote for AAP, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday praised the AAP chief.

"Arvind Kejriwal is a decent man, and AAP's prospects are bright," Sinha was quoted as saying in media reports. "Everybody is discussing about AAP, newspapers are flooded with them, TV channels are discussing about them, means that they are popular," Shatrughan Sinha added.

Earlier on Thursday, Mamata Banerjee urged the people of Delhi to vote for AAP. Banerjee tweeted and said, "Delhi elections on Feb 7. My request to all of you in Delhi to please vote for AAP. For the greater need of the country and development in Delhi." Banerjee urged voters to go out and vote for the AAP.

Rs 850 cr surprise package for Andhra

Regarding section 46 (2) and Section 46 (3) of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, the Union Government is determined to support Andhra Pradesh, giving Special improvement package to backward zones and Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra district of the State.

It has now been chosen that funds adding Rs.350 crore (@ Rs.50 crore each District) in seven Backward Districts of Andhra Pradesh may be given to Government of Andhra Pradesh in the midst of 2014-15 for its advancement exercises. Government has sanctioned about 850 crores in total of which 500 are for Seema and Uttarandhra districts. For the financial years 2014-15 Andhra Pradesh got this special package.

Bride dies as Car falls into canal in Krishna district

Moments later, the resplendent bride was to go into a happy wedlock. The mood was celebratory and the delight unspeakable. The gorgeous bride was engaged with banter as her car was cruising along the Krishna river canal near Thotlavalluru in Krishna District.

But, fate only has a fast-forward and no rewind button. Suddenly, the driver of the speeding cat lost control over the steering and the car plunged into the canal headlong. The death was instantaneous for the bride, her friend and two others.

The  ill-fated car was going to Guntur from Challapalli. There was anguish as the bodies of bride Balakumari, her closest friend Nagachandrika, driver Nagasekhar and his wife Padma  were recovered. Driver's child Rohan is in critical condition.

The wedding was to be solemnized on Thursday. But, death came calling Wednesday evening. Celebratory hoots soon turned into inconsolable wails all in a matter of few hours.

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to sign six MoUs in Japan

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will sign six (Memorandum of Understandings)MoUs during the six-day visit to Japan starting from November 24. Chandrababu Naidu, along with his ministerial delegation, will sign six MoUs in Japan covering sectors including agriculture and food processing, power, modern urban transport systems and clean energy.

Naidu, leading an 18-member delegation which includes Finance Minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, MPs, Galla Jayadev and C.M. Ramesh, and senior officers from different departments, will have meetings with high-powered CEOs of Japanese companies during the visit.

Seeking to woo the top companies towards investing in Andhra Pradesh, the state government has prepared brochures and a short-film in Japanese language. In addition, Naidu's speeches would be translated into Japanese language to reach out to the audience during the visit, Parakala Prabhakar, Advisor (Communications) to the state government, told reporters here on Sunday.

The delegation would visit Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo and other cities and return to Hyderabad on November 30. On being asked why Japan has been chosen for the visit, he said the state government would like to benefit from the substantial commitments made to India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Japan and also as the island nation is advanced in the areas of electronics and information technology.

Congress leader Murli Deora passed away at 77

Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Murli Deora passed away due to a prolonged illness on Monday in Mumbai. He was 77 and is survived by his wife and two sons, including former MP and federal minister Milind Deora.

He had been unwell and admitted to a hospital. He had come home two days ago, family sources said.

Deora's mortal remains would be kept at the Mumbai Congress office, where party workers would pay their last respects from 12 noon to 2 pm. His last rites would be performed at Chandanwadi Crematorium later in the day, the family sources said.

“Murli Bhai is no more. A personal loss to me. A great Patriot and a Congress Stalwart we shall miss his wit and his sane advice,” tweeted senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of Mr Deora and said his warm nature made him popular across party lines.“Just yesterday I had spoken to Shri Murli Deora’s family & asked about his health. Very sad to hear the unfortunate news today,” he said on Twitter. “My deepest condolences to the Deora family on Shri Murli Deora’s demise. May his soul rest in peace.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the country has lost a veteran Parliamentarian.

'I am deeply saddened by the demise of Murli Deora. We have lost a veteran Parliamentarian and an experienced
administrator,' the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said.

Barack Obama chief guest at Republic Day parade

US President Barack Obama will make his presence as the chief guest for India’s 66th Republic Day celebrations. Obama will be the first U.S. President to attend the celebrations as the chief guest. This will be Obama's second visit to India as US president. Obama last visited India in November 2010 when he had come to Mumbai and New Delhi on a State visit.

“This Republic Day, we hope to have a friend over…invited President Obama to be the 1st US president to grace the occasion as chief guest,” Modi tweeted on Friday.

Obama’s National Security Council was quick to confirm that the president had accepted the invitation. "President Obama will travel to India in January 2015 to participate in Indian Republic Day celebration as chief guest. Obama will meet w/@narendramodi and Indian officials to strengthen and expand the U.S.-#India strategic partnership. Visit will mark 1st time US president will have honor of attending Republic Day, which commemorates adoption of India’s constitution #India." the NSC tweeted.

New Delhi has hosted leaders of four other permanent members of the United Nations Security Council–China, Russia, UK and France–on previous occasions. The choice of the US President is indicative of the push which the Modi government wants to give to India-US relationship at the beginning of his five-year term.

Yoga guru Ramdev Baba gets Z-security cover

Renowned Yoga guru Ramdev is the new entrant to the 'Z' category VIP security club. The Central Government has sanctioned Z-category security for Ramdev due to his “vulnerability to attacks from his opponents”.

“There is an increased threat perception on him,” said a senior official without elaborating.
A Z-category protectee is guarded by 22 commandos.

Ramdev already gets Z-category security in Uttarakhand, as part of a decision taken by the state government earlier.  With the Centre’s fresh decision, Ramdev’s security cover has now extended to the whole country.

Over three dozen VIPs, including BJP chief Amit Shah and industrialist Mukesh Ambani, have Z-category security. Muzaffarnagar riots accused Sangeet Som also gets 'Z' category security.

Man ate kid body parts in Wadhra

These days people are just forgetting humanity. An incident occurred in Wadhra was a shame on human relations and society. A 40 year old man killed a kid aged 9 years and ate his body parts.

According to the police, Pathan, a father of three, kidnapped Mule from Wadar Vasti area on 8 November and took him to an isolated area where he killed the boy. He then removed the boy’s eyes and kidneys and took them to a remote Hanuman temple outside the city where he cooked them and ate before performing the puja.

Munna was reportedly known for doing black magic and was an acquaintance of Mule’s family. A week ago, an eyewitness informed the police that he had seen the child with Pathan. On being grilled, Pathan spilled the beans. “He said he did it to acquire special powers to recover hidden treasure. He said he needed the power to loosen the grip of ghosts’ guarding the treasure,” Paraskar said.
